Palapye Easter Session

Folks will have the much-awaited Palapye Easter Session on Good Friday at 422 Farm to keep their spirits up.

According to Hunters Inn Pub director, Thebe Johannes, the whole aim of the Easter Session is to provide alternative entertainment for Easter Holidays and bring the people of Palapye together while they chill and mingle.

“It will be a family show, which will start at 2pm to allow people to bring their families and children and after 6pm the children will not be allowed in the farm. The main aim is to make the event a scenario where people can chill and mingle. And with many local artists who will be embracing the show as well as the invited artists, we hope that people will attend in large numbers,” Johannes said.

He said even though the event is not a once-off thing, this year’s instalment will be the first of its kind to happen in Palapye.

Johannes told Showbiz that they are planning to make it an annual event.

Johannes added that for convenience they chose 422 Farm as their venue because it is outside the village where they will not destruct neighbours with noise.

Though the farm is far from the village with some who might think that it would not be safe to drive out there, Johannes assured potential revellers tight security at the event.

He said they have engaged Branrock Security Services from Gaborone who he mentioned are part of the event sponsorship.

“The security will be very tight.  The company that we have engaged will provide gate security, internal security as well as motor vehicle security.

Access to the farm has also been made easy as we have already engaged some construction work to clear the bush heading towards the farm so the place is safe and secure,” he said.

The event organiser, Bokang Molosiwa on the other hand promised people entertainment and good security.  He said on top of having engaged Branrock for security, they have also roped in some bouncers and local youth security companies to take care of the motor vehicles.

He said cooler boxes will be allowed for free at the event until 7pm saying from then on they will be charged P50 and people have been urged to bring their own camp chairs and come well in time to have more fun.

Line up will include the well known Amanandos, Scheestos, Skhebo, T-Mash, Chouse University, Riicky, Ritual Essence, Yung Muller and Tswello.

Some local artists from Palapye who Johannes said they have included in the line up as a way of grooming them include Max Hobba, Chizboy, Lesjoh, Abednico da Dj  Mchilo, Obzek, Eltonic BW, Jojo Tha Psyfo, GrizzlyGang, Yuntornado and Levita Smiz.

On the other hand Sikadima has been declared the emcee of the day.

According to Johannes, the event might see other sponsors coming forward like Hunters and Heineken who he said have promised to assist but have not yet confirmed.
