Two children die in house fire

Kang police are trying to trace the cause of the blaze, which was so intense that it left all property burnt to ash.

Kang police assistant station commander, assistant superintendent Kabelano Tebogo told Mmegi they received the report around two in the afternoon.

“The blaze destroyed the family’s house leaving everything in ashes. The firefighters and the police spent the whole afternoon rummaging through rubble in search of clues, but even now we have not yet established the cause of the fire,” Tebogo said.

He said the police and members of the community tried to rescue the children, but there was smoke and flames everywhere.

Mmegi has learnt that the children’s father, who is no longer in a relationship with their mother, was supposed to be getting married next weekend.
