Mamelodi has been on suspension since March last year, although he was briefly reinstated in July, before being hit with another suspension in August.

He faces charges of gross misconduct emanating from maladministration and financial impropriety, the charges he deny.  He was due to face a BFA disciplinary hearing but there has been back and forth, with Mamelodi challenging the legitimacy of the process.

He has also challenged the forensic report, which unearthed rot in the management of BPL. The BPL exhausted its budget half way through last season, leading to Mamelodi’s suspension, who has maintained innocence saying he was acting on the BPL board’s instructions in most financial transactions.

“Yes, we have parted ways. I cannot get into details on the reasons why we decided to terminate the contract, as that it confidential employer-employee information,” BFA CEO, Ookeditse Malesu said yesterday. He, however, said Mamelodi was fine with the decision.

“He was ok,” Malesu said. He could not say when the association will hire a full time CEO for its organ, the BPL, with Thabo ‘Stiles’ Ntshinogang holding fort on an acting basis. Mamelodi’s contract was due to expire in September, but as there have been twists throughout his suspension, more turns are expected.
