Kwasa Kwasa enthusiasts are expected to brave the cold winter night and fill up the Trekkers garden venue to witness as one of the country’s music legends launches his 17th album.

The Gabane-born musician Franco, as he is affectionately known in music circles is back with a new six-tracked album that is likely to see his fortunes soar higher in the music industry.  The new album titled Mene Mene Thekele is scheduled for official release on May 29, 2018.

According to the artist, the launch will be massive as a number of popular local artists are expected to share the stage.  Ditiro Leero, Vee Mampeezy, A.T.I and La Timmy are some of the big acts expected to thrill fans and spice up the launch.

“The launch is going to be big.  I have managed to get together some of the best artists in the country to spice up the event.

It will take those who used to attend launches back in the day down memory lane,” Franco said.

Other artists on the line up of the launch include Mlesho, MC Maswe, Dilomakwati, Mahempe, Figos, Tshepo G, DJ Pops, DJ Black Stars and MC Ronnie.

He said they are working on logistics to make the launch an unforgettable experience for the fans that have stayed loyal to him throughout his music career.

The Ke Lela Le Lona hitmaker promises an explosive performance from his other Kwasa Kwasa counterpart Jeff Matheatau, whom he says has created healthy rivalry between them, pushing one another to reach higher levels.

Regarding the album, Franco stated that the music would provide the original taste of Kwasa Kwasa that Batswana have known him for.

He said that the songs in the new album display the thoughtful arrangement that culminates in an acoustic feast that associates with Franco’s art.

“It is Kwasa Kwasa at its best. Go apeilwe, Batswana ba tsile go e rata,” he said.

Franco has been for some weeks now travelling around the country sampling some of the songs in the new album and has even promised a new style of dance to go with it.

The award-winning and talented singer said his upcoming album would also reflect his maturity as a musician.

He said the album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Kunda Bwanga at Octave Records.
