Boko Worse Than Khama - Mmolotsi

Wynter Mmolotsi served in the Central Committee of the party and never signalled any trouble. Mmolotsi on Saturday unleashed vile at his former president, Duma Boko.
”If you thought Ian Khama was an oppressor you are wrong. Boko is worse. We worked with him under UDC and he took unilateral decisions. Boko would never consult anyone and wanted things done his way. We cannot have a country ruled by Boko and his vice president, Sidney Pilane. Pilane was responsible for the bloodshed in Bobonong,” he said.
Mmolotsi said the Botswana National Front is a good party they would love to work with minus Boko. Mmolotsi also took a swipe at Botswana Movement for Democracy vice president, Tlamelo Mmatli. “When his name was brought up I had doubts about him. People convinced me that he was the right man and I supported him. I would like to apologise to you all for rallying behind him calling on you to vote for him, he is not a leader,” he said.
Boko was said to be travelling to Namibia at the time of going to press.
UDC spokesperson Moeti Mohwasa dismissed Mmolotsi’s claims. “It is surprising that he would say that now. The UDC was not formed because of Boko. They had their internal issues within the BMD and left. It cannot be true that Boko took any unilateral decisions. Why would he raise it only now?” he said.
For his part, AP president Ndaba Gaolathe said his party was capable of bringing genuine change. “I foresee change of power in 2019. There will no longer be people who live in poverty. Those in the streets will get employment. We will have big industries and be able to work on our diamonds here at home and export rough diamonds, as it is the case now,” he said.
Gaolathe promised that his party would strive to improve the quality of education in the country. He also said Parliament should be strengthened and transformed from being like a Student Representative Council without powers.
AP was launching its Kweneng region in Molepolole over the weekend. The event was poorly attended considering that it was regional and Molepolole on its own has two constituencies. Since its formation, AP has recorded the lowest numbers in any elections they partook in. The party has maintained that they would never work with the UDC, which has the BMD and Pilane.
AP was formed after a Gaolathe-led faction quit the BMD following their dismissal from the party. They had attended a Youth League Congress in Ramotswa after the then Nehemiah Modubule faction had it called off.
