In an interview with Mmegi, Broadhurst station commander superintendent Bonosi Molapisi said they are still investigating whether he is linked with the woman’s death.
“The suspect is believed to have had a relationship with the deceased but investigations are still ongoing for us to establish the duo’s relationship,” Molapisi said.
He stated that they are yet to match his DNA and that found in the bloodstains from a shirt that was retrieved at the scene of the crime.
Molapisi said the suspect is currently in police custody helping the police with investigations. “The deceased was identified by her family from Serowe village who later took her for burial,” Molapisi said.
Early last month, Ipelegeng workers discovered the deceased’s corpse hidden under a heap of grass near the back of the hall in the morning when reporting for duty.
One of the employees was looking for her makeshift rake when she made the gruesome discovery.
Molapisi applauded members of the public and the media for their help in identifying deceased and locating her family. She was later identified as Obopilwe Mogorosi from Serowe.
“Members of the public also assisted with information in arresting the suspect even though we are yet to press murder charges against him, since our investigations are still ongoing,” Molapisi said.
