The purpose of the event was to celebrate Acappella music, while also recognising the country’s Acappella groups. One of the groups who performed on the night included Maatla Gospel Choir who produced powerful hymns among their many songs.  Another group Honour in Song showcased their varied talent including beatbox collectives and sublime vocals. In addition, St John Metsimotlhabe also known as Ma14 serenaded the crowd with uplifting songs including clap and tap songs. Victory Voices also came on stage to show that an all-men powerhouse can still bring the house down.

The festival was jam-packed with showcase performances, having singers and music-lovers joining some other experts in this vocal event for vocal harmony music. All the groups performed a wide range of genres including funk, folk, pop, soul, gospel and R&B.

Their diverse musical backgrounds each lend something unique to the festival fuelled by a mixture of hunger, talent, and passion for music.

The organisation, Music to Life was born from the passion to use music to make a positive change in the lives of Batswana in a number of ways. Amongst other things, the organisation scouts and recruits talent nationwide for the purpose of nurturing and developing it. They also facilitate crowd funding for local music artists and relevant community projects.

Their earlier projects date far back to 2007, when they held a small-scale talent show but have now decided to do things a bit differently from usual norm. The event is used to fund raise for their organisation in order to purchase instruments and also improve their infrastructure. Music to Life is based in Tlokweng but has a nationwide reach.
