As expected, the event lived up to its billing with artists performing their hits and impressing the crowd. La Timmy performed alongside his usual partner, Guyvos, and the two gave revellers something to cheer about. They played the hype man’s role throughout their set.

When Ditiro Leero got on stage, he did not disappoint. He performed some of the hits from the highly popular Matsieng album Setswana sa borre, which had songs such as Tinto. However, he nearly messed up his performance by spending time talking to fans who were putting up beer bottles on stage.

Vee Mampeezy also showed why he is one of the best artists to come out of the country. His two notorious dancers thrilled revellers with their unique, energetic and comical dance moves. The two went on to engage in a dance battle with the legendary Franco towards the end of the show.

First he performed songs from his previous albums, before going into his new album. It was evident when he performed the title track Mene mene tekele that the song is likely to be the ultimate hit.

Franco’s performance lasted for over three hours as he dished hit after hit. Though his album was officially released just four days before the launch, revellers were singing along as he performed his new hits. He also performed songs from his time when he was with Alfredo & Les Africa Sounds alongside the latter’s dancers.
