Kediretswe Aims For Another PSLE Result Record Breaker

The school headmaster, Gagoitsewe Malete revealed their intent at the school’s victory celebrations held at the school recently. Kediretswe attained a 98% ABC pass in the 2017 PSLE results from 69.7% ABC in 2016, making a 28.3% improvement.
The school had 96 pupils sitting for the PSLE last year, 45 got A’s, 34 got B’s, 17 scored a C and two D’s. Each class had 32 pupils. Now, as is it has become a norm in many schools, the numbers have gone high. An average number of pupils in class at the school is 45.
“Of course that poses a new challenge, but my staff adjust well to challenges as indicated by the massive turn around of results as compared to our previous years,” Malete said, pointing out that they have devised a new strategy to deal with the huge numbers of classes. He said their plan, as the school management is to remain above the government target and to be better than all the schools in the region and the country.
“All this is a result of respect. Respect for teachers, all members of the supporting staff, the pupils. This great work begins at standard one. We mold result-oriented students. We are going to dethrone all those that finished above us.” The schoolhead and all members of the teaching staff at the school received 27 Huawei tablets from the permanent secretary to the President, Carter Morupisi as rewards for the sterling stewardship.
The standard seven class of 2017 was also rewarded with excellence certificates and presents for their achievement.
Morupisi praised the school for the remarkable feat. He encouraged all members of the staff to walk an extra mile and defeat the current challenges such as the overwhelming pupils, teacher ratios.
He said the new challenge for the school is to stabilise methods of teaching and positioning the school as the best in the country.
“I encourage the staff to instill a culture of winning into the pupils, a culture of achieving and knowing only the best practices in life,” he said, also encouraging the parents to walk with the teachers and assist in building the future of the country.
