No blinking as top two meet in the south

Sharps beat Black Peril 1-0 while Santos demolished Matebejane 3-1 in another match. Notwane also registered a victory against Letlapeng.

The matches were postponed earlier this month due to waterlogged pitches. Sharps are still ahead with 39 points, two more than second-placed Santos.

Interestingly, the two sides meet this weekend in the top of the table clash. While Sharps hold a two-point advantage, Santos are holding a superior goal difference making the weekend encounter very interesting.

A victory for Santos will see them top the log, relegating Sharps to second after holding the top position for a long time. Sharps, however, will breathe a sigh of relief if they win since they will open a four-point gap at the summit.

Both Santos and Sharps are left with four matches each.  Sharps will be away to Matebejane and Skoon Boys but will play their other two matches against Mochudi Rovers and Santos at home.

Santos on the other hand will also play two games at home and two away. They will be away to Sharps and Rovers, but will hope that the home ground advantage works for them against Notwane and Prisons XI.

Meanwhile, the Debswana First Division North League is on the verge of producing a winner. TAFIC lead the pack and will return to the Premier League after three seasons in the lower division if they register a win against Motlakase Power Dynamos on Sunday in Palapye.

Despite firing head coach, Blessing Moyo this month, TAFIC have not let that disrupt their mission. If they register a win on Sunday, both Motlakase and BR Highlanders will have to fight it out for a second place finish, which guarantees a spot in the promotional play-off.
