Letsoaka appointed BFA technical director

BFA public relations officer, Tumo Mpatane expressed confidence in Letsoaka's capabilities as he said he beat many other capable applicants.
'It is a job that attracted a lot of attention from coaches who are interested in the development of football, mainly then development of youth. Mr. Serame Letsoaka is the right man for the job we feel he shares the same goals and ambitions of the association,' he said.
Mpatane however refused to go into the details of the contract as he said it was an internal matter. Letsoaka would resume work on Monday (June 11) and would oversee all the technical aspects of both the men’s and women’s, junior and senior national teams.
He replaces Matshidiso Kowa who left the post earlier this year after less than a year in office. Letsoaka has been without a job since leaving Bloemfontein Celtics last year.
He was linked with the vacant Kaizer Chiefs head coach role. He led South African Under-20 side to the World Cup in 2009 and also had a stint with Golden Arrows, Supersport and Free State Stars.
The BFA TD job attracted coaches from as far as Europe including France, Germany, Sweden and Serbia.
Former Bafana Bafana head coach Philippe Troussier was also linked with the job, and was spotted at Lekidi in April. However, the BFA settled on the Lesotho native.
