Motlha’s producer and manager Suffocate told Arts & Culture that they postponed the show because more people were complaining about the cold at the open space Piazza. They therefore decided to change the venue to Ditshupo Hall.

Having revealed that the budget for the show is over P500,000, Suffocate added that the budget has now increased because they have beefed up the line-up with Zimbabwean-born artist, Bekezela Bothwell Nkomo of Bekezela song fame.

In addition he said they have included ATI who has collaborated with Motlha on a song called Hisa Hisa. “They performed the song in Maun and people loved it, it’s not an official first single of the album,” he clarified.

Suffocate who said sound problems were amongst the reasons they postponed the event said they involved a top sound engineer from South Africa.

“We want everything to be perfect. People should expect top notch entertainment all night,” he said. Motlha, 24 shot to fame earlier this year when he released his hit song, Mmamotse and has been the talk of the town since.

Suffocate was quick to admit that they were worried after postponing the show.

“We thought more people were going to ask for ticket refunds, but only two people demanded their refunds because they can’t make it on Saturday,” he said.
