BQA Celebrate forerunners

The 12 Providers  which include 11 existing education providers(ETPs) and one new , were  celebrated last week  as the BQA held a one day workshop to update  stakeholders  about progress with regard to  transition.

 The list of the forerunners include Ba ISAGO University Botho University, Boitekanelo College, MANCOSA, Imperial School of Business and Science,  GIPS, IDM, New Era College of Art, Science and Technology, London College of International Business Studies, Assembly Bible College and Gaborone University of Law.

Manager, Education Records, Lydia Dilelo says more ETPs have applied and are currently being processed. She explained that this number does not include Technical and Vocational Education and Training Provider but only those offering diploma level courses upwards.

 She further explained that learning programmes for the forerunners and all other providers remain valid until the end of the transition period.

The listed institutions from old system (BOTA and TEC) and their learning programmes, remain valid and recognized during the transition.

She highlighted that the lists are published from time to time and that they are always on the BQA website (www.bqa.org.bw)

Ms Dilelo also assured learners currently enrolled in the current list, including those already enrolled on deferred learning programmes that they will graduate with recognised qualifications. She emphasised that programmes on deferred with not enrol learners this academic year.

The forerunners were celebrated and encouraged to move to the next phases of registration of qualifications and learning programmes accreditation.
