Pharmacist stabbed to death

Francistown Central Police station commander, superintendent Lebalang Maniki told Mmegi that they suspect that the 35-year-old might have been killed.

According to the police chief, the names of the deceased who hails from Gabane, have been withheld because his next of kin are yet to be informed.

“He had a stab wound on his body which is why we suspect that he might have been killed. His body was discovered at around 6am on Saturday,” said Maniki.

He added: “At this moment, we do not know what could have been the motive of his killer or killers.”

Maniki said no one has been arrested in connection with the death of the man who resided at Donga location. He also stated that the reason for the deceased to be found in Area A also remains unknown.

More than a year ago, a 41-year old Zambian national Mwangala Malisao, was brutally murdered by robbers who made away with her belongings. In addition, they dumped her Toyota Run-X sedan, which was used as a getaway vehicle at Donga.

At the time of her death, Malisao was working for Nyangabwe Referral Hospital (NRH) and to this day, the whereabouts of his assailants remain unknown.

The police have even acknowledged that they are finding it difficult to establish leads that could help them arrest Malisao’s killers.

Meanwhile, the police are also investigating an attempted suicide case that happened at Ntshe location.

The incident happened on Saturday morning. “A 42-year old man allegedly tried to hang himself after differences with his girlfriend who is of the same age.

He is said to have assaulted his wife and in the process inflicted injuries on her,” Maniki said without providing further details because investigations were still at an infancy stage.
