Facility improvements for Selebi-Phikwe schools

They each received a Cashbuild building material voucher to the value of P12,000 at the Cashbuild Selebi-Phikwe Store opening ceremony held on March 23, 2017. Their winning vouchers will allow the schools to undertake vital maintenance work, including, for example, cloakroom repairs, building a new shelter for assembly and new ceilings.

Boitshoko, Reuben Mpabanga and Joseph Anderson Memorial Primary Schools were three of the eight schools that received a Cashbuild building material voucher to the value of P12,000 apiece. Boitshoko head teacher, Mma Lekone said they look forward to maintaining and repairing their cloakrooms and replacing a few broken doors and windows.

Reuben Mpabanga’s head, Mma Sephore said they are happy and they appreciate the work that Cashbuild is doing. They would like to build a shelter for assembly as they currently pray and attend school functions outside with no roof over their heads. The Principal of Joseph Anderson Memorial Primary School, Mma Legwaila added that they are going to replace ceilings in a few classrooms because they are falling apart.

At the official Cashbuild Selebi Phikwe store opening ceremony held on the 23rd of March 2017, when the building material vouchers totalling P96 000 were presented to all eight schools, the children provided traditional music and theatrical performances.

The Cashbuild Art-at-Heart competition entails learners from each school submitting their best artwork to Cashbuild. This artwork is displayed at the ceremony, and then remains on display in the Cashbuild store for the next six years. Artwork was judged and three winners from each school were named. Winners received Cashbuild Art-at-Heart gold, silver and bronze certificates for first, second and third place respectively.

The Manager’s Choice award was also presented to the overall winner, Phillimon Gaosupelwe from Boswelakgomo Primary School. This award was announced on the day and the winner received a stationery pack and a glass trophy. The winner also officially opened the store.
