The supporters are challenging the legitimacy of the current executive committee led by chairperson, Rapula Okaile.

Their argument is that the decisions of the 2014 annual general meeting be declared null and void since the meeting did not form a quorum.

While both parties will argue the merits in June, Justice Leatile Dambe on Friday dismissed the respondents’ (GU) preliminary points which sought to bar the case from going into the merits.

The respondents through their lawyer, Lore Morapedi had argued that the case be dismissed because the applicants, being the supporters, did not follow certain procedures.

One of them was that they failed to cite a relevant officer and brought their review four months after the completion of the proceedings which they are complaining about.

The club lost the first round with costs. The two parties will argue the merits of the case on June 1 before Justice Dambe. GU supporters are represented by Uyapo Ndadi.
