Company director, Ludo Kemoeng on Wednesday said they aim to finish in the top eight this season which will enable them to take part in the Mascom Top 8 next season. “We do not have ambitions to win the league this season.

The squad needs beefing up. However, we aim to win the Mascom Top 8 next season and finish in the top four bracket,” he said. He also said they will then aim to win the league or together with the Mascom Top 8 in the third season.  “That season we also want to contribute players to the national team.

The Zebras just got into camp but there is no single player from Gunners. This speaks a lot about our technical ability,” Kemoeng said.

He said the fourth season is for self-sustainability of the club for its growth. Their objectives are also to see Gunners being the most popular club in the country.

The club has already set up an office in Lobatse and is in the process of staffing it. The club revealed that Ian Kebopetswe has been appointed as the general manager while other posts have been advertised.

Kebopetswe was the club secretary general when they won the last Coca-Cola Cup in 2013. He has also served as acting chairperson. “We are looking for qualified staff who will add value to the club. Everyone has to play a role in this plan and vision.

He added that the staff they will hire, including the coach, would have to be able to fit into the plan. Gunners last week lost their coach, Daniel Nare who resigned ahead of the Lobatse giants’ clash with Township Rollers.

“We will wait for the closing date and see who has applied.

We will then make a shortlist and make a decision on our next coach. Nare was informed together with other members of the technical team when the adverts were put in the newspapers and he (Nare) had shown interest,” Kemoeng explained.

The company co-director, Barnes Maplanka urged Gunners supporters to attend all the club activities as well as take part in the membership drive so that they authenticate their membership to the club.

Club chairperson, Hennel Kaisara also urged the supporters to understand that Tsa Gae has the sole responsibility of running the club including hiring the coach.

He said no one should be seen interfering with their responsibilities. “As the committee they will then report to us and we will report to the society,” he said.
