Primary schools break-ins hit on GCC budget

“There has been a burglary in Taung on the 25/04/2018 and Notwane on the 26/04/2018 and some items were taken as well as damage to doors, locks and furniture.  The incidents were reported to the police and investigations are on going. At Tsogang they broke the burglar door and the security intercepted them and they ran away,” Thutlwe said during full council meeting yesterday.

On other issues, the mayor said on constituency projects for Ministry of Lands regarding allocation of land for the three projects of Maruapula that have not kick started.

He said people have submitted that a clinic be built in Maruapula location, community hall and a shelter.

And the clinic will cost around P6 to P9 million.

“The three projects will start as soon as the Ministry of lands approves land. The plan of the clinic has been done. For other projects contractors have been awarded and there are progressing well,” he said.

He said the floodlights installations in the constituencies have been given to acute engineering company that is already on site and have been supplied by the contractor.

Thutlwe said civil works have started at Bonnington North, South, Gaborone Central and South and P3, 768,864.00 has been spent for procurement of floodlights.
