Setsile will be out of the final as he collected his third cumulative yellow card. Galaxy’s coach, Mike Sithole seemed to have had the cup final in mind before the game as he rested a number of his key players including Setsile, Anthony Gouws, Tebogo Sosome and Thabang Sesenyi to avoid injuries and suspensions.

However, with teams locked at 0-0, Sithole introduced Setsile in the 70th minute as he sought maximum points. The winger was immediately involved in a tussle with Chiefs’ captain, Lesego Galenamotlhale. He was adjudged to have pulled the skipper by his jersey and referee Tshepo Gobagoba was not hesitant to caution him. Setsile immediately beat the ground a couple of times as he came to the reality of missing the prestigious cup final. “I took a gamble. I rotated the team with most of my key players on the bench.

I wanted to avoid such things. I did not want to lose them as I have lost another player. He tried and got a card now he is out, but it is football.

That was a gamble he took,” Sithole said after the game. Setsile has been instrumental in the team’s good run this season, as he has scored seven league goals.

Galaxy closed the gap on log leaders Township Rollers with a 1-0 win over Chiefs. Substitute Wilfred Dithwane got a memorable opportunity as he scored with his first touch of the game with a header on the 77th minute.

The win meant that Chiefs’ winless streak went onto three games. This loss did not go down well with some of Chiefs’ players. Dirang Moloi stormed into the dressing rooms after being substituted.

His coach, Bongani Mafu however downplayed the player’s action as he said he had a running tummy.

Galaxy are now two points behind Rollers who were held to a one all draw by Extension Gunners, thanks to a late minute header by Simisane Mathumo on Saturday.

In the other games, Gaborone United fell out of the Top 8 bracket for the first time this season after playing to a 1-1 draw with Miscellaneous on Friday at the Molepolole Sports Complex.

On Saturday, Security Systems won the battle of the rookies, as they beat Black Forest 1-0, while BDF XI and Nico United played to a 2-2 draw.

Gilport Lions and Green Lovers recorded 1-0 wins over United Hotspurs and Police XI respectively. Orapa United collected maximum points with a 2-0 win over Sankoyo Bush Bucks.
