In an interview with Mmegi Sport on Saturday, the Alarm Boys mentor said considering the games they have in hand, he foresees his team taking part in the next season of the Mascom Top 8.

“I am optimistic that my team will be within the top eight teams at the end of the season.We will definitely meet our objective for this season which was to retain the Premiership status. Looking at where we are in the league now, and the games we have in hand which are winnable, we will definitely be within the top eight teams at the end of the season.

“I am optimistic that we will be taking part in the next season of the Mascom Top 8,” Nthaga said.

He said their focus is however still on the Premier League. “Like I always say, let’s focus on the league first, then we will see how we go with Mascom Top 8,” he said.

The new league entrants moved two positions up on the log to number five ahead of Extension Gunners after collecting three points from Mmankgodi side, Black Forest, following a 1-0 defeat in Lobatse over the weekend.

Systems have already played 21 games and collected 31 points. They have nine games in hand.

The Alarm Boys have been able to maintain a consistent form. In their last five games, Systems collected nine points from Orapa United, Nico United and lately Black Forest and they played to a draw against Police XI and Green Lovers. They have not recorded a loss in their last five games. Their next five fixtures are against Jwaneng Galaxy, Gaborone United, Township Rollers, Gilport Lions and Sankoyo Bush Bucks.
