Poor Sound Quality Mars Desert Race Festival

The music show, which was hosted by Colours of Sounds this year after Dladleng Entertainment lost the bid to host the show was a dull affair compared to past shows.

South African Sun El Musician of Akanamali fame headlined this year’s event.

Although the show looked better organised unlike the previous Desert Race festivals, sound issues became the organisers’ nightmare to an extent that they could not do anything.

It was a big problem, especially for playing live bands such as Franco’s. At some point, Franco had to vacate the stage in the middle of his set to allow sound engineers to rectify the problem.

After approximately 30 minutes, he went up on stage, but the problem persisted.

It was so bad that one could not hear exactly what song the artists were singing.

Despite boasting the usual crowd pullers such as Franco, Vee Mampeezy and red hot Motlha, the show also failed to draw the expected numbers.

Many decided to pitch outside the Jwaneng Town Council Stadium instead of buying tickets to get inside. Others who had bought tickets in advance could be seen trying to sell them at the gate as they decided not to get inside the venue.

Artists tried hard to give the revellers a good show,  but were throughout frustrated by the poor sound quality.
