BFA dismisses TAFIC in Chiefs' case

The BFA, responding to TAFIC's lawyers, said all its members including Chiefs were in good standing.
'As a prerequisite for participating in the Premier League for the 2017-2018 season, all clubs had to apply for licensing as per the BFA Constitution and Play Rules and Regulation. To the best of our knowledge, all clubs met the requirements outlined in the relevant statute,' read BFA's response.
In the letter, the BFA reminded TAFIC that it had been relegated to the First Division and could, therefore, not take up any space in the event of any team being expelled from the Premier League.
'Based on the above, we are of the view that your complaint lacks merit and your request to return your client to the Premier League is declined.'
The BFA hit out at TAFIC for lodging its complaint through lawyers.
'Please inform your client that we will not respond to any further communication relating to our affiliates through third parties. Henceforth, we shall not entertain any communication from you on behalf of our affiliate. Your client is well aware of the communication channels in terms of lodging complaints,' the BFA said.
TAFIC wanted Chiefs thrown out of the league for failing to pay affiliation fees, arguing it was the Trust and not the Sporting Club that had paid.
