Double trouble for Moswaanes supporters

Masogo was assaulted by supporters reportedly belonging to Moswaane’s camp after questioning the legitimacy of one of the delegates at the Francistown region congress last weekend. Masogo initially reported his case to the police and vowed not to forgive his attackers saying their actions were fuelled by political gameship.

Yesterday the outspoken Masogo confirmed that he has also submitted a complaint letter against Moswaane’s supporters to the party.

“The party has since requested that I submit my medical report as part of evidence in my case. I am preparing the report and will submit it to the party before end of today,” Masogo said.

Masogo sustained hand and neck injuries during the assault. The BDP activist has confirmed that he has written a letter to the party demanding action to be taken against his assaulters.

“As for the police they have told me that they are still trying to locate those who assaulted me. They said they will brief me on the way forward once they have traced those who assaulted me. Those who assaulted me were not detained on Saturday in order to allow them to take part at the congress,” explained Masogo.

Yesterday BDP secretary general, Botsalo Ntuane however said the party is yet to see Masogo’s complaint letter.

“Immediately when we receive the complaint letter, we will assess it and take appropriate action,” Ntuane said.

Meanwhile, at press time there were indications that some BDP members in Francistown West were working on a complaint letter against the actions of Moswaane’s supporters.

Through the letter members also want the party leadership to take stern action against Moswaane’s supporters following their alleged weekend actions.
