Ramoraka signs with Highlands Park

The player underwent successful medicals with the Johannesburg side last week after an impressive show during the COSAFA Cup in Limpopo.

The 24-year-old follows his Zebras teammates, Thatayaone Kgamanyane and Kabelo Seakanyeng, who recently signed for Chippa United.

Ramoraka said he would be joining his new side for pre-season next week.  He said his former side, Orapa United, has given him their blessings.  Ramoraka sees his move as a stepping stone to greatness.  He said he has already trained with the club for a couple of days and said he felt at home.

“My focus is to be fully committed to Highlands Park as I was to Orapa United,” he said. “I have learned that focus and commitment reap greater rewards in life. There is obviously less pressure with Highlands Park and all I have to do is work hard and cement a first-team position and then the rest will follow.”

Orapa United’s vice chairperson, Kennekae Nkape said the club is happy for the player. He said the player served them selflessly and praised him for his discipline and conduct during the contract talks.

“He had a contract with us until 2020 and we just had to let him go.  He is a humble person, he will make a good ambassador for us and we wish him growth.

“We have a good relationship with Lee and we believe this will be his retirement home.  He is the kind of player you would wish to have to help others learn,” he said of the player who joined the club in 2014.

Meanwhile, the club’s spokesperson, Kabo William said they have signed Miscellaneous goalkeeper, Bophelo Kealeboga and TAFIC attacking midfielder, Onkemetse Powe.

Mosimanegape Robert, Ronald Chikomo, and Kemmy Pilato have left after the expiry of their contracts.  Speculation is that the trio will join former Orapa assistant coach, Daniel Nare at Security Systems.
