BFA seals First Division games live broadcast deal

BFA will hold a launch of the broadcasting rights deal at Travel Lodge tomorrow night, with the service expected to resume at the beginning of the 2018-2019 First Division season.

Matches will be broadcast on Maru Sport (DStv) and on the free-to-air Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development’s (MYSEC) NOWtv.

'We are proud to inform you that the Football Association and Baboneng Film Productions will make history as Baboneng becomes the first private company that will broadcast First Division soccer games live on television,' BFA chief executive officer, Mfolo Mfolo said.

Assistant minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Moiseraela Goya and his counterpart at MYSEC, Phillip Makgalemele will attend tomorrow's launch.

It will be the first time that First Division games are beamed live on television.  Details of the cost of the sponsorship deal were not immediately available.

Thus far, only the BTC Premiership enjoys live broadcast on state broadcaster, Botswana Television (Btv).
