The fund raising dinner will include live performances from three local artists, wine tasting, auction, display of handbags and a motivational speech.

The profits of the dinner will be donated to a nonprofit organisation called Afrika Ithute Trust Fund thus the theme of the event. The organisation is based in Molepolole and aspires to work in rural areas by providing youth with opportunities to learn on issues of Life Leadership Development, Career and Entrepreneurial Development.

“We didn’t want to donate to organisations that are being helped, we wanted to choose someone who is doing something different,” managing director of Levdin, Babui Nyepetsi told Showbiz in an interview.

Founder of Afrika Ithute, Tumelo Moreri, said what stands out is that it will be a dinner and will have a motivational speech on leadership.

Moreri said Nyepetsi approached her to be part of the project and she gladly came on board. “Afrika is a nonprofit organization that facilitate a process of healing on the African continent and build leadership capacity,” she said.

She said they started last year by tutoring Kgari Sechele Senior Secondary students and this year they are doing the career development with the same students.

Nyepetsi further said Levdin commenced its Community Development Initiative with the Sole Food event in recognition of the Nayang Association’s Sole for Souls Shoe Drive Campaign aimed at donating shoes to the needy and underprivileged within the community.

She said with last year’s event, Levdin team managed to accumulate at least P8,000 towards this cause.

“Through the auction of art work, sale of tickets, and public participation in our dedicated Social Media challenge that pushed the public to donate school shoes and clothes to be donated to the Association,” she said.

Nyepetsi said the event was a success because they reached their main goal to raise the necessary resources for the association whilst raising awareness on the work of the association in building the community.

She encouraged people to come to this year’s fund raising event because it’s for a good cause.

“Its an outstanding event because its more than the food, the wine and the entertainment,” she highlighted.  The event starts at 7pm and a ticket is sold P300.
