Maun Rocks Music assembles 100% local lineup

The event organised by Medumo Entertainment will assemble a 100% local lineup which includes Dramaboi, La Timmy, Ban T, Slizer, Izzy, Gaone, DJ Chabo, DJ Chrispin, Mosako, DJ Gouveia, DJ Fondo Fire, Dr Tawanda, DJ Robbie Rob, Chris Manto 7, Chris Pounds and many others.

Vee Mampeezy who recently won a Metro FM award will make a special appearance alongside Rraagwe Tinana.

“The event will be a pre-party as people will be attending the annual Mascom Derby the following day on April 15. The event will be hosted at Maun Sports Complex from 1700hrs till morning.

The event has unique features because in the morning there will be a free fitness event hosted by Orbert and the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development,” Medumo Entertainment spokesperson Benah Kobotwe stated in a press release.

Kobotwe indicated that the fitness event will be free and all people in Maun are welcome to attend. “It will be held in the stadium while the music event is charged a minimum fee of P80.

Most of the artists performing at the event will be launching their latest albums and playing both new and old songs. LaTimmy, Chrispin and Mosako will play some fresh tunes,” Kobotwe further stated in the press release.

Kobotwe further told Showbiz in an interview that they hosted a similar event last year but this time they want to go all out with the 100% local lineup. She said that most people think that an event without an international artist cannot attract a bigger crowd.

“We want to show them its possible,” she said. Kobotwe said people love to go to Maun during the holidays therefore they took a decision to take the formidable lineup of artists to Maun. 

“Some of the artists will be performing at Maun for the very first time,” she said. She also said Ministry of Youth is also helping them to market the event no wonder they have combined their fitness event with Maun Rocks.
