BFA satisfied with First Division broadcast deal

The BFA sealed the five-year deal with a local company, Baboneng Film Production, last week.

Baboneng will pay the BFA P1.5million per season for the first two years, while the last three will be worth P2million per season.

Baboneng has been given the TV, radio, print and internet rights as well as the branding of stadium during matches. It is a historic development for the local game, the first time ever that First Division matches would be shown live on television.

At the launch, held in Gaborone last week, Baboneng director, Kesebonye Seabelo promised quality production.

The BFA is more than satisfied with the deal it has sealed with the production company.

BFA public relations manager, Tumo Mpatane said Baboneng is a reputable company that deserves to be given the opportunity to grow football in Botswana.“The company we are dealing with is a reputable company, which has a positive track record having done work with government on the production of Lefatsheletlotlo (which is on Btv) Ngwao boswa (Btv 2015) A lorato kelonele drama ( Mzanzi Magic and Btv)  programmes, just to mention but a few of their work. We believe we have a business understanding with Baboneng and they will deliver their end of the deal,” Mpatane said.

Baboneng has invited the media for an inspection of their Outside Broadcast van at the Mass Media Complex next week, as preparations to televise the First Division games next season, gather pace.
