Duiker in the dark over Gunners future

The team recently cut short a five-year deal with local clothing outfit, All Kasi. The company had stepped in, in October 2016, to rescue the financially constrained club. The deal was however terminated as All Kasi and Gunners’ executive committee clashed over certain issues.
The development led to the club failing to pay players’ salaries and seven players were suspended after boycotting training demanding their dues.
Speaking to Mmegi Sport at Lekidi Football Centre where he was taking the Young Zebras through their paces, Duiker said Gunners is yet to report for their preseason training, as they have not been given the green light by management. He said he is in the dark over his future and any goings-on at the management level.
“We do not know what is going on. The last time, we were only informed that the club has parted ways with All Kasi and that was it,” he said. Duiker said he is worried he would be running behind time as his preseason plans have already been affected.
“Yes, I do have plans for the preseason and the next season. But at the moment I am waiting for them to talk to me. We are yet to know when and if we will resume our preseason, we are already running behind. This has affected my overall preparations for the next season,” he said.
Meanwhile the club has lost the services of influential midfielder, Mothusi Cooper who has been snapped up by league champions, Township Rollers.
Cooper joins the star-studded side, which last month unveiled former Gaborone United trio of Tumisang Orebonye, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and Jackson Lesole. Zimbabwean holding midfielder, Elvis Meleka has joined Mochudi Centre Chiefs from relegated Gilport Lions while speedy winger, Gofaone Mabaya has left Black Forest for Orapa United.
Rollers new assistant coach, Marko Vaseiljevic is yet to assume his role at the club as he awaits his work permit.
