Ntsuape is also charged with four counts of manslaughter and one count of disabling a police officer to commit a car accident.

Early this year, Ntsuape allegedly wrestled the steering wheel of a police minibus with a police officer who was driving it.

The minibus then overturn, in the process killing two people, a police officer and a prisoner. In addition, several people who were in the bus sustained injuries.

The accused’s brushes with the law started sometime last year after his former girlfriend and mother of his child jilted him.  The state alleges that Ntsuape could not fathom that he was no longer loved, hence he ended up committing offences.

On Friday, Thatayaone Tshekiso from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) told the court that investigations into the matters are still ongoing.

She added that they recently received some statements from the police in relation to Ntsuape’s murder, arson and manslaughter cases.

“I apply for the accused to be further remanded in custody,” said Tshekiso.

Ntsuape told the Court that he had nothing to say.

Magistrate Kaveri Kapeko adjourned the matters to March 24 for status report.

Meanwhile, a 29-year-old unemployed man, Boitirelo Jackson, appeared before magistrate Ishmael Molobe to face one count of breaking and stealing from a dwelling house.

The state alleges that Jackson, on or about December 20, 2014 during the night at or near Mathangwane broke and entered into a dwelling house belonging to Nginani Boykie and stole P4,070.

Jackson pleaded not guilty to both offences. Prosecutor, Bianca Ockhuizien applied for the accused to be denied bail as he already has similar offences. Jackson is accused of having multiple cases of burglary and theft pending before the Courts.

Molobe acceded to the application made by the state and remanded Jackson in jail. Trial dates in the matters have been set for May 3 and 4.
