The nuptial showcase was held at the Gaborone International Conference Centre (GICC) this past Saturday.

Entrepreneurs from different backgrounds exhibited different wedding elements such as wedding gowns, suits, cakes, photography services, flowers, hair products, tents and associated equipment for hire.

A sizeable crowd patronised the stalls where they enquired about the various products and services that were displayed.

It was more of a networking session between clients and retailers as the latter marketed their products.

Models paraded in bridal outfits and a limo that can be used at weddings was also displayed.

With all the wedding supplies under one roof, it was easier for one to meet up with the different suppliers and plan for a wedding without much ado.

Upcoming and established fashion designers were also given an opportunity to exhibit their respective designs on the ramp during a short-lived but convivial mini-fashion show that left a lasting impression on the onlookers.

“We have been doing this expo for the past four years. Our objective is to show people that the Grand Palm is the place to host a wedding as we provide different venues and services within our area.

We are a venue of choice, therefore we call on the different suppliers to exhibit their supplies which one can select as they can host their wedding here,” said Grand Palm marketing administrator Samantha Bogopa.

She expressed excitement towards the turnout of people that attended the event stating that the numbers have increased. “We introduced a system of people paying by the door and the proceeds are taken to charity”.
