Notwane and Fighters played to a 0 - 0 draw

The match as expected produced some fine moments, but both sides were solid at the back and never allowed each other too many clear-cut opportunities for goals.

Both sides got into the match desperate for maximum points in order to revive their faltering title chase.

They battled in the midfield and few chances were created with both sides looking organised at the back.

Fighters’ clear cut chance came in the 40th minute when Notwane player, Thato Mogorosi and his goalkeeper, Thabang Motlhabai failed to communicate and nearly allowed Thuso Keraetswe to punish them. Luckily his effort went narrowly wide.

A minute later, Notwane also had a chance when Tsogang Israel combined well with Kakanyo Kethubile to set up Mogorosi but his header narrowly missed the target.

The game went into the halftime recess without any side looking more dangerous than the other.

However early in the second half, Fighters were given a penalty after Busang Roberts was adjudged to have pushed Gobe Maphane in the box. Captain, Branco Molokwane stepped up but Motlhabai produced a spectacular save to keep his side in the match. After the introduction of South African attacker, Sthembiso Mbuqe, Notwane looked dangerous going forward but they failed to make the right decisions upfront.

Fighters’ coach, Letang Kgengwenyane said they still want to collect as much points as possible so that they return to the elite league.

He said their intention was to attack from the wings, but were unfortunate that goals did not come through.
