BDP aspiring MP threatens to interdict primaries

Sean Samson Sebele who wants to stand against the incumbent MP Samson Moyo Guma has made allegations of irregularities against the Committee Branch of the area.

Sebele who has cried over the branch committee’s bias against him while favouring Guma has instructed an attorney, Ofentse Khumomotse in his quest to have his grievances addressed.

Through his attorney, he has indicated that should all the demands he has made go unheard, they will approach court for appropriate redress including interdicting the primary elections scheduled for August 11, 2018.

According to a letter dated June 29, 2018 addressed to the BDP secretary general and the secretary for the Political, Education and Elections Committee, Sebele said he was dismayed at the manner the branch committee has been treating him.

“The branch committee is highly biased against me and favours Guma’s candidature over mine and those aspiring councillors aligned to and or supporting Guma,” he said.

Sebele is seeking the committee to recuse itself from all the processes in relation to preparations for the primary elections and allow the regional committee to take over.

He is further demanding that the issues he has raised be addressed urgently as the malpractices perpetuated by the committee act to undermine his candidature and those aligned to him.

According to the letter, Sebele has already written two letters addressed to the central committee in which he stated his displeasure about the committee.
