Amos Makes A Strong Comeback

It was the second best time of his career and fastest time in the world since the 2012 Olympic finals. Amos’ run made him the fifth fastest man of all time, breaking his own meet record. The 800m sensation, has been under a lot of strain after the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games below par performance.
Another athlete who had a good day in the office was Baboloki Thebe, who registered 44:54 at the London Diamond League, finishing fourth in the men’s 400m. Abdalleleh Haroun of Qatar came first in a time of 44:07 and Paul Dedewo of United States of America came second clocking a time of 44:43. Kirani James of Grenada was third in a time of 44:50. Thebe told Sport Monitor that he was impressed with his performance, especially that he made a Season’s Best.
“The race was good and I enjoyed it. My aim was to qualify for the final and I feel that I put up a good fight on the track. I thank God for the Sub 45,” he said. Thebe’s next race is on August 18 after the Africa Senior Championship. Meanwhile, Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) has announced the team that would represent the country at the upcoming Africa Senior Track and Field Championship.
The competition is schedule for August 1 to 4, 2018 in Asaba, Nigeria. The championship is a qualifier for the fourth coming IAAF World Cup that would be held in Czechoslovakia in September.
