Moyo was recently slapped with an indefinite suspension by the club over a reported breakdown in relations with some players. The suspension came as a way of addressing some nagging problems that had arisen between the coach and the players. The Zimbabwean was suspended soon after the team’s 2-2 draw against cross-town rivals GNT. He missed four of their past fixtures where they attained three wins and one defeat. They lost 1-0 away to BR Highlanders.

Club spokesperson, Warrent Kolola said the coach appeared before an independent panel, which included a prominent lawyer from Francistown.

“We are meeting tomorrow (Wednesday) as the executive committee to observe the findings of the report from the hearing and the final decision on the way forward will be guided by the recommendations from the report,” he said.

Meanwhile, Matjimenyenga increased their lead at the top of the Debswana First Division North league table with a 1-0 win away to Morupule Wanderers over the weekend.

TAFIC are now four points clear of second-placed BR Highlanders on 36 points with six games left before the end of the season.

Highlanders alongside chasing Sua Flamingoes, Motlakase Power Dynamos all dropped points over the weekend.

Highlanders shared spoils with third-placed Flamingoes in a stalemate in Sowa Town. Motlakase crashed 2-0 to relegation-threatened TASC in Francistown and fell six points behind in position four.

TAFIC, however, are not counting their eggs just yet. Kolola acknowledged that it is getting tougher and the league remains wide open. He said they remain focused until the final whistle.

“We must admit the season has grown tougher as we approach the closing stages and we will not rest on our laurels,” he said.

“Our objective remains to gain automatic promotion and the good thing is we are grinding results. We will not undermine any of our opponents and we will keep up our fight to the bitter end.”
