The ruling, originally scheduled for January 27, was postponed again this past week to March 17.

High Court judge, Leatile Dambe was scheduled to deliver the ruling on Friday but moved it to two weeks later. The issue started when some disgruntled GU supporters took the club to court challenging the legitimacy of the current leadership led by chairperson, Rapula Okaile.

This followed an annual general meeting  (AGM) two years ago in which a new leadership was ushered in. The disgruntled supporters through their lawyer, Uyapo Ndadi are arguing that all the resolutions taken at that meeting, including the elections should be declared null and void.

The infighting led to the departure of investor, Nicholas Zakhem. However, he returned as a sponsor through his company, ZAC Construction.

The club, through its lawyer, Lore Morapedi argued that there was no evidence to the effect that the meeting was unconstitutional.

The club also argued that the previous committees also served terms although they were voted in by members who did not form a quorum.

Dambe previously presided over Township Rollers matter in which some members challenged the running of the club. They were successful in their application and advised that the club hold an AGM and change the constitution to allow for the accommodation of investors.
