BFA president, Maclean Letshwiti released a statement yesterday saying Malesu brings in rich experience in sports administration and entrepreneurship.

“His working experience in providing building and construction project management skills, ensuring provision of the required level of service to the corps at Engineer unit, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget and according to the specifications,” he said.

Letshwiti also said Malesu is an all-round sportsman with distinctions in leadership in swimming and karate.

He said that has catapulted Malesu into qualifying to serve in the national, regional and international committees and sub committees.

“His exposure to leadership, experience with a disciplined outfit which specialises in strategic management, tactics and team building will be a great asset to an organisation which has at times been accused of moral and financial indiscipline,” he said.

Meanwhile, suspended Botswana Premier League (BPL) CEO), Bennett Mamelodi’s hearing reportedly failed to take place on Wednesday.

Although the BFA did not shed light on the progress on the matter, sources said the hearing did not take place since Mamelodi was not well.

BFA spokesperson, Tumo Mpatane said they do not want to discuss the matter in public for now until “the right time” when it has been dealt with.

The association has ordered Mamelodi to appear before the disciplinary committee for alleged acts of misconduct.

The hearing was prompted by the findings of a forensic audit carried out at the BPL office.

Mamelodi is challenging the findings of the audit at the High Court. His lawyer, Dutch Leburu has already filed an affidavit. The BFA is yet to respond to the affidavit.
