As part of creating positive vibes, a teacher from the village has established an event called Thamaga Bush Farm Sundays to be held at Adashe Gadern Resort every last Sunday of the month.

The event is based along similar concept as Gaborone’s popular events Jam For Brunch and Chill Step Sundays. The founder of Thamaga Bush Farm Sundays, Lucky Ranko said he has been contributing in the entertainment industry for so long so he felt it was time he came up with something of his own.

He said amongst major objectives of the event is to re-brand Thamaga village.

“This is an event that can make Thamaga proud,” he gushed. Ranko said the concept is to pull Thamaga families into one environment where they can hang out in peace. He said some people, especially the elders are afraid to go out because they still think Merubisi and Matsetsenkane gangs still harass people.

“They have the right to enjoy a good outing. The motive of this is to make a turnaround,” he said. In addition to a relaxed environment, Ranko said they would also have live performances and entertainment from DJs.

“This is a family affair than a music festival. I am targeting more families and elders compared to the youth,” he said.

Ranko also said so far they have done two events and the next one will be on August 20.  “The venue is ideal because it’s a farm and there is a perfect scenic view since Thamaga is a beautiful village naturally. He said the event will run from 10am to 9pm and tickets are sold at P50 for adults and P25 for children.

Ranko said the idea going forward is to donate some of the events profits to schools in Thamaga.
