The Pop Culture is a new event, which is a campaign to promote the pop lifestyle in the country amongst the youth.

“As a way of promoting pop culture we decided to bring Shane Eagle to be the headline act as he is one of the most trending urban artists at the moment, you can just tell by the way Mayo is topping,” event organiser, Leonard Mittawa said.

The South African rapper’s music has been making rounds especially amongst young urbanites.  Eagle seems to be excited with his debut performance in Botswana, as he has been promoting the event through his Twitter account. He is regarded as a true rapper compared to the new school rappers who focus much on trap music. Ammo Ski Mask, Frank Casino, Sean Ramzy and Riz Khali will support Eagle.

Explaining the pop culture movement he stated that this is a platform whereby people that celebrate the pop culture get to come together and celebrate it in different ways through fashion, music and other different elements of the pop lifestyle.  “We are targeting anyone who is youth at heart,” he said.

He noted that with the lineup of performers they get to select known artists and unknown artists to share the stage, which is also another way of promoting the pop culture and growth of more artists.

“The problem we have with other events is that they always have the same acts performing, and upcoming and unknown acts are not given a platform,” he said.

Pop Culture will start at 6pm till 2am, local DJs such as Teegee Global, Unanimous 1, Macx wa bana, Casper the DJ, Strictly House Bound, and Tumie Blackace FME. The event is set to take place after every two months.
