Local multi talented DJ Cutrite launches a poetry book

In an interview with Showbiz, Moeng said The Peril Of A Saint is a poetry anthology that touches issues like reason, spirituality, Hope, Despair, Love, Romance, Pessimism, Sexuality, Social Justice, Leadership and more hard hitting spoken words.

“The book is intended to wake the spirit or demon buried deep inside. It’s emotively sad, shocking, makes you cry, laugh, feel inspired and above all it empowers you to imagine and think beyond measure,” he said.

Moeng further explained that the book was Parent Guide (PG) rated. He said its advised for readers above 18 years old.

“The book is intended for adults 18 years and older and at school level, it is advisable for undergraduates or graduates students. The book is intended for both men and women but it has a female skew. After reading the book, I hope it will address a number of issues including but not limited to; Broadening your thinking perspective, Enriching your ability to think rationally, Seeking a better understanding of your God, The Power of Will, Defeating negativity, It addresses fear and its manifestation, Indifferences management, Talks about how to love and love yourself, Offers views to women, never shared by men, Helps you to grow spiritually, Amidst hopelessness its your sanctuary, A hideaway read amidst the noisy world, Living a Positive life and Provides varied ranges of flow and style and more,” he said.

He added that that book was a third section of his other book which first included memoirs, poems and the spirit world. He pointed out that The Peril Of A Saint was written since 2011 and was inspired by one of his life challenges.

However, 60% of this poetry book was completed in the last 18 months.

Moeng is an actor, media manager, poet, writer, comedian, producer, musician, MC and a radio dj popularly known as DJ Cutrite 1997 from RB2 fame. He is a member of the Ex-Cut-Edge music group.

He has been writing as far back as secondary school days. Over the years, he has perfected his love and art of creative writing. Early Millennium DJ Cutrite became the longest running chairperson of the most acclaimed poetry group to ever hit the country in style, “Exodus Live Poetry”. He has helped develop what is now a flourishing music and art industry in Botswana. He has 20 years on radio, 20 Years as a recording artist and 25 years as a club DJ. Today Moeng is a media manager with GabzFM and has had experiences and challenges in his life that has led him to write this poetry anthology. He has come up with a number of initiatives including launching a book, releasing a music album with a folk lore taste the third quarter of 2017, visiting one school every quarter to empower children to read, write and use creative writing as a way to sustain their lives in the future.
