Last Thursday night thieves broke into Moseki’s law-firm offices near the Institute of Health Sciences (IHS) and made away with a laptop, computer processing unit (CPU) a computer monitor and two memory sticks.

Moseki said that he has since reported the matter to the police but he will also carryout his own investigations to establish what exactly happened.

“I am handling very sensitive cases and I cannot rule out the possibility that someone who broke into the office wanted to steal valuable files in an attempt to weaken the cases,” he said.

He continued: “Among the cases I am handling is that of seven refugees whose statuses were revoked by Government. I am not saying anybody from the security forces are involved in the break in, but at the moment I do not rule out foul play by anyone”.

Moseki said that the thieves left a N$10 note on the floor, saying maybe those who broke into the house are Batswana who left the note to make authorities believe that the suspect might be a foreigner.

Moseki said that thieves entered the office through a bathroom window and dismantled the alarm.

“What makes me suspicious is that the thieves entered my law firm and they only targeted my office while there were other valuables in other offices. I also do not think that a real thief can steal a memory stick,” he said.

A person who is looking for information is the one who can steal a memory stick, according to Moseki.

He further noted that the perpetrator(s) ransacked all the drawers in his office and left files scattered all over. At the time of going to press, Moseki said that he was still assessing if some files have been stolen too.

Last week Friday Francistown Central Police station commander, Superintendent Lebalang Maniki said that he would establish if Moseki has reported the matter to the police or not.

“The case is yet to reach my office. Usually, some cases take time to reach my office,” he said. Moseki formerly contested the Francistown East parliamentary elections.
