Gunners have asked for postponement of their midweek match following the death of their chairman

“We have asked the Premier League to postpone our midweek fixture against Nico but we will fulfil the game against Jwaneng Galaxy over the weekend,” Gunners spokesperson, Edwin Mabapa said.

He said the BPL had not responded to their request as of yesterday afternoon, but the office was expected to grant the postponement.

The club is waiting for the family to guide it on the way forward regarding funeral arrangements.

“The postmortem is being carried out and the body will be released to the family on Wednesday, and only then we will know about the funeral arrangements,” he said.  He described Gothaang as a “gifted leader” who had contributed positively to Gunners.

“We have lost a very gifted leader at a time when the club was on the rise.” Gothaang died when his vehicle collided head-on with another on his way to Lobatse on Saturday. He was elected Gunners chairperson in December 2015.
