In a press statement issued late evening on Monday the party secretary Mpho Balopi said, “The postponement was necessitated by the discovery of a compromise to the integrity of the voters roll of the Botswana Democratic Party in the form of a hacking of the roll Specific to the 38 BDP held Constituencies which were the subject of the up coming Bulela Ditswe'.

Balopi also said the party Central Committee will hold a meeting to brief various structures at the Palapye International Convention Centre (PICC) on August 11, 2018.

The postponement comes after former president Ian Khama this morning openly decampaigning the Minister of Defence, Justice and Security and Bobonong MP Shaw Kgathi during Franscico Kgoboko's trust launch. Kgoboko is challenging Kgathi in Bobonong constituency Bulela Ditswe.
