China donates primary school in Mmopane

The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi is scheduled to officiate at the ground breaking ceremony for the P120 million Mmopane Primary School at Mmopane Block 1 on Friday morning. 

“The project, donated by the government of the People’s Republic of China is expected to be completed by January 2020.  The project will include an administration block, 22 classrooms, a library, a computer laboratory, another laboratory, 24 Teacher’s houses, six toilet blocks, a Dining Hall, a science/mechanical laboratory, two security rooms, water elevated tank, a football pitch, two basketball courts and a Bell Tower,” the ministry’s spokesperson Masego Ramakgati said. 

Ramakgati also said various dignitaries, including the Ambassador of the Republic of China to Botswana, Zhao Yanbo, Member of Parliament for Mmopane/Lentsweletau, Vincent Seretse, chairperson of Kweneng District Council, Jeffrey Sibisibi, Kgosi Simon Manthe of Mmopane, Mogoditsane Sub-District councillors, government officials and Mmopane community are expected to attend the ceremony.
