Lover fatally stabs veterinary officer in her office

Palapye police station commander, superintendent Waboraro Ramaja said the police rushed to the scene on Tuesday and found the deceased lifeless. “We found the deceased lying in a pool of blood at the veterinary offices where she was employed.  We then rushed her to the clinic where she was certified dead by the medical doctors.

We suspect that she was stabbed with a sharp object,” said Ramaja. He said they have detained a 30-year-old man, who is said to have been the deceased’s lover, in connection with the matter.

“We already have a suspect in the matter but do not have full details of what might have really caused the fight because the matter is still at the initial stage. We have not even interviewed the suspect as we just caught him yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon at Gootau village. Our investigations are still ongoing in the matter.”

According to Ramaja, the suspect originates from Modibedi ward whilst the deceased comes from Mmamadila ward both in Lecheng village.

The police boss expressed concern over rising murder cases in his area of jurisdiction. He said it is worrying that people appear not to prefer solving their disputes in amicable ways.
