The local artists have planned to walk 40km with the rapper and host a short gig that will be held at Botho University auditorium on Monday. The rapper of the Sejabana fame embarked on a 1000km walk campaign from Maun to Gaborone and 11 days later he has done over half the distance.  He left Sowa Town yesterday. Kast started his mission on February 11, 2017 in Maun and is expected to touch base in Gaborone after around 25-27 days subsequent to the commencement date.

He is expected in Francistown on Monday February 27.

A group of DJ’s and local artists will meet him at the Borolong turn-off and proceed to the event venue and then the following morning walk with him up to Tonota.  According to the organiser, DJ Collastraw, the aim is to mobilise support and raise funds to help the rapper realise his feat.

“The response from the artists here and the people of Francistown is massive, we are surely set to pull out hundreds of people to walk with Kast.

We have been campaigning through social media platforms and it’s going to be amazing,” he said.

Collastraw said the welcoming ceremony and the walk with Kast is an appreciation to the rapper for sacrificing himself for the music industry course.

He said Francistown-based hip-hop artists would perform at the evening event. The renowned Francistown DJ also appreciated the support they are getting from individuals and cooperate companies. “We will have a few artists performing but it will just be a small gig so that we allow the man sometime to rest,” Collastraw said.
