Dipsy headed for SuperSport

Dipsy, whose contract with Ajax Cape Town runs out in June, is set to don Matsatsantsa a Pitori colours next season.

The Urban Warriors management delayed to offer him a new deal, prompting him to look elsewhere.

When Mmegi Sport sought a comment from him, the former Gaborone United striker could neither deny nor confirm the development.

'I am not ready to say anything about that issue right now. I will talk when the right time comes,' he said.

However, a source close to the star revealed that he is destined for the three-time champions.

'He was obviously not happy at Ajax because of lack of game time and they were delaying to offer him a new deal so he has signed a pre-contract with SuperSport,' said the source.

The source added that the Ajax management was divided over Selolwane's future at the club. The Botswana international has been a pillar of strength at the Urban Warriors this season and contributed with some significant goals.

His impending departure will come as a shock to many after his outstanding performances at the beginning of the season.

He had been offloaded by the then Urban Warriors' coach Graig Rosslee before Muhsin Ertugral gave him a new lease of life.

The Gaborone-born star did not disappoint, as he went on to make a total of 19 appearances for the Ikamva outfit.

Under Foppe de Haan, who seemingly preferred Lance Davids and Clifford Ngobeni in the defensive midfield position, he saw little action. He is on record as saying he is not happy at the Cape Town outfit. He will be expected to play a crucial part in Saturday night's Telkom Knockout final against Kaizer Chiefs.

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether Uniao Flamengo Santos starlet will clinch a deal with the Gavin Hunt-coached side.He attended a week-long trial at the club last month. Santos' skipper Mogogi Gabonamong sang praise of the dazzling youngster in the South African media recently.

'He's emerged as one of the best young players from home recently. I have watched a few of his games on TV and I have been highly impressed with him. He knows how to score goals and his composure is on-point for someone of his age. I haven't played with him in the national team just yet, but I'm told his discipline and commitment is great....'
