Killer Giants to fight on

The team's public relations officer Offmann Montsiemang says his charges will fight to the bitter end and that their chances of survival are good.

'There is still everything to fight for, because all the bottom teams from position 10 downwards have an equal chance of dropping, you win three games you are up there, depending on what happens to those other teams you are competing with,' Montsiemang told Mmegi Sport.

He said that players were aware of time running out but that there was no need for panic as that could further derail the team. However, he noted that his players were not to blame for the team's position.

'As you know, you have to register players with Premier League experience when you come from the First Division but the unfortunate thing is that you would not be having the money to buy the type of quality that would bring results immediately and we also had to buy some average players.

You cannot blame them, they are doing their best but obviously their best is not good enough to win the Premier League title,' he said.

Although he admitted that the road ahead could be even tougher, Montsiemang said that they found solace in the fact that the Premier League was unpredictable noting that they were positive going into their clash with ECCO City Greens in Selebi-Phikwe tomorrow (Saturday).

'Look what happened to Gunners against struggling Police XI and how Jwaneng Comets held for dear life against Mochudi Centre Chiefs? It is a clear indication that no team in this league is a pushover, teams lose but they fight for the results.

There would be no purpose of playing in the Premier League if we were not willing to fight for three points in every game. We are aware of the challenge but we are not scared and we are going to approach every game in a positive manner - that we can win it,' he said.

According to him, his players have been working hard to improve the team's standing despite the fact that positive results have not been [forth]coming.

'It is that mentality that gives me hope that our team will pull through despite all these hardships. The players are clearly focused on getting the team from the bottom,' he said.
