The Winnie Mashaba Annual Moral Regeneration gospel festival, whose main purpose is to pray, guide and remind each other that people have power over their emotions, is a combination of dialogue sessions led by Winnie Mashaba. On the night, local motivational speaker Kgomotso Tshwenyego and former Cabinet minister Professor Sheila Tlou assisted her.

The concert, which also featured local gospel group Ditsala Moreneng did not disappoint even though there were some sound glitches.

Immediately after the dialogue sessions ended, the performances began with local clap and tap group Ditsala Moreneng lighting up the stage. The group nearly stole the show and shine from Mashaba with their performance as they fused trending dance moves.

The group set the tone and got the audience up from their seats to dance. Even, then Mashaba seemed impressed as she stood up and sang along throughout. When Mashaba finally ascended to the stage with her band to perform it was around 10pm.

The gospel queen, kept her audience on the dance floor for the better part of the night. One could see that all the people who attended the show had undying love for her and were prepared to go extra hours with her if it was possible listening and dancing to her soothing music.  She performed some of her popular songs such as Thola Ngwaneshu and Ke Bone Konyana much to the delight of her fans.

Mashaba, who has many supporters in Botswana, acknowledged the support she gets from Batswana in general.

She said that the ultimate objective of the Annual Moral Regeneration programme is to contribute towards the development of a tolerant and moral society for the common good through the revival of the spirit of botho and the actualisation and realisation of the family values of the society as embraced in the moral regeneration charter.

She said that through its motivational speaking, the Moral Regeneration seeks to promote the prevention of HIV/AIDS, teenage pregnancy, alcohol and substance abuse, tribalism, violence, sexual violence, disrespect for the elderly and all other social-ills that continue to plunge the country into loss of identity and morality. However, she indicated that this could also be achieved through prayer.
