The CC also made a decision that the Task Team should have two members of the central committee and co-opt three people.

According to the BNF spokesperson, Justin Hunyepa the resolutions are supposed to be implemented soon.

“The Task Team will also go to constituencies that are affected by the resolutions to find ways in which their issues could be addressed or solved,” he said.

BNF conference had resolved that the party should ensure that the process of Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) constitution has been filed with the Registrar of Societies and its process is concluded within 21 days.

The BNF had also resolved that since BMD has not been responsive to bilateral talks with BNF to address representation issues, they took a decision that there should be a joint primary election under the UDC ticket for all parliamentary and council seats allocated to the BMD in 2014, except where it holds incumbency.

If this fails, then BNF should assume leadership of these constituencies and wards.  The UDC congress would be the final arbiter if the above two do not succeed.

On the issue of primary elections, Hunyepa said the CC would be meeting the national election committee this afternoon to understand some of the problems they are facing and some complaints members rose.

“The central committee wants primary election appeals board to hear the appeals before the end of the month. We do not want the primaries to take long,” he said.
